Virginia D’Agostino Death notice

Virginia Ann D'Agostino, affectionately known as Gina to her loved ones, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, in Painesville, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 19, 1933, in East Kingston, New York, Gina was a beacon of light, love, and laughter to all who knew her.

Gina's early years in East Kingston were filled with the warmth of a large, close-knit family. She was a self-employed seamstress, a vocation that allowed her to share her remarkable talent and creativity with her community. Her work was not just a service but an expression of her loving nature, as she poured her heart into every garment she crafted, ensuring that her clients always left with a smile.

Throughout her life, Gina was known for her kind and generous spirit. Her laughter was infectious, and she had a knack for making everyone around her feel special and loved. Her passions extended beyond her work to the simple pleasures in life, such as diving into crossword puzzles and bringing vibrant scenes to life in her adult coloring books. These interests were more than hobbies; they were windows into Gina's playful and youthful soul.

Family was the cornerstone of Gina's world. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Lisa Friend, and stepson, Edwin Dale Friend II (Sheila) of Chardon, Ohio. Her legacy continues through her grandsons, Daniel Drumm (Tiffany) of Willoughby, Ohio, and Dylan Friend of Chardon, Ohio, as well as her great-grandsons, Liam and Brantley Drumm of Willoughby, Ohio. Gina also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Joan Ramundo of Spring Hill, Florida, along with numerous cherished nieces and nephews in the Ramundo family.

Gina's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband, Edwin Dale Friend I, until his passing. She was also preceded in death by her son, Roger "Butch" D'Agostino, and his wife Renee; her parents; her six brothers, John, Michael, Joseph, Thomas, Sabatino (Sal), and Peter Ramundo; and her seven sisters, Catherine Ryder, Theresa Felice, Mary Ramundo, Mary Crow, Christine Squillini, Josephine Marino, and Liberata Marino.

Her love and kindness extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all those she encountered. Gina's ability to find joy in the everyday and her unwavering support of those she cared for are part of the beautiful tapestry of memories she leaves behind.

Virginia Ann D'Agostino's life was a testament to the power of love, the joy of laughter, and the beauty of kindness. As we celebrate her life, let us hold dear the lessons she taught through her living: to cherish each moment, to embrace our loved ones, and to spread kindness wherever we go.

As we bid farewell to Gina, we do so with immense gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with her. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Gina, until we meet again.
