Matthew Thomas Fisher, 42, of Warren, OH passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 1, 2026, while surrounded by family and friends. He was born on Sunday, March 27, 1983, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH, the son of Cynthia A. (Berisford) and Richard A. Jenkins and the late Gary C. Fisher.
Matthew is preceded in death by his father Gary C. Fisher, his brothers Jeremy Fisher and Matthew Jenkins, his grandparents Thomas and Maxine Berisford and uncles Donald Berisford and John Berisford.
Matthew attended New Philadelphia High School and graduated from Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia, OH. Matthew was top of his class in the C.A.D. Program. Matthew joined the United States Army and specialized in Air Defense while stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
Matthew had a passion for the thrill of life from early childhood with everything he did. He was a master of many trades and an extreme sports enthusiast from rollerblading, snowboarding to rock climbing. When Matthew entered the room, everyone knew he was there. His unique outlook of life informed his humor and incredible wit, along with his particular brand of sarcasm. Matthew was actively involved in the recovery community in Warren, OH with his two brothers for the last four and a half years of his life. His latest office sat atop a cell tower, where the open sky and sweeping views brought him a rare sense of peace and achievement.
It is hard to describe the life of this beautiful soul with just a paragraph of words, and if you knew Matthew you would understand.
Matthew will be deeply missed by his parents Cynthia and Richard Jenkins, siblings Michael Fisher and Nathan Fisher, step siblings Aaron (Cristian) Jenkins and Keri (Duke) Dailey, his sons Colt Fisher, Carson Fisher and Aries Fisher, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 28, 2026, from 2-6p.m. at Ricardo’s Restaurant and Banquet Hall located at 115 Front Ave. S.W. New Philadelphia, OH 44663. Donations can be made in memory of Matthew to Recovering Together @ www.recoveringtogether.us
