WOOSTER - Margret Lynette Ashburn Kleinschmidt, known affectionately as Lynette, left us on January 7, 2026. Born on the first day of 1944 in Ohio, Lynette was the daughter of the late Beulah and Alwyn Ashburn, and sister to the late Sue E. Nuendorfer.
Lynette's compassion shone brightly through her work as a dedicated social worker, having honed her skills and empathy at Baldwin Wallace, and Queen Anne's School in the U.K. Her commitment to service reflected the depth of her character, touching countless lives.
Her personal life was rich with the love of family, including her two sons, Sean (Lisa) Bailey, Simon (Liz) Bailey, her cherished three grandchildren, Logan, Greyson, and Emmett, her nephews and niece, George Neundorfer Jr., and the late John and Katie Neundorfer, and her late husband, Al Kleinschmidt.
An avid traveler, Lynette's sense of adventure took her to many corners of the world, including China, Egypt, Great Britain, and all over Europe, each journey fueling her passion for life and her endless curiosity. She enjoyed her animals, antiquing, and gardening. Her garden was a testament to her patience and creativity, a place of tranquility and beauty where she found solace and inspiration. Lynette's love for poetry and writing was yet another facet of her creative spirit, allowing her to capture the essence of her experiences and the world around her.
Lynette's story may have reached its final chapter in Wooster, Ohio, but her legacy will continue to inspire and influence all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded to cherish the moments of connection, to nurture our passions, and to approach the world with the same humor and creativity that Lynette embodied. Goodnight, Lynette, and thank you for the laughter, the lessons, and the love.
