In Loving Memory of Hector Manuel Baez Jr.
October 4, 1954 – December 6, 2025
Hector Manuel Baez Jr., affectionately known as “Papito,” was born in the Bronx, New York, on October 4, 1954, and passed away peacefully in Parma, Ohio, on December 6, 2025.
Hector was a man whose heart knew no bounds. He proudly served as a Chaplain, finding joy in offering comfort and hope to others. Above all, his greatest joy was his family—his children, John Baez (eldest son), Daniel Baez, Krystal Miller, and Christopher Baez; his beloved grandchildren, Paris Baez, London Baez, Bronx Berry-Baez, and Mason Miller; and the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Mary Vickers.
He is survived by his loving mother, Esther Baez, and his siblings, Sonia Baez, Eddie Baez, and Richard Rondon, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nephews who adored him. Hector now joins his father, Hector Manuel Baez Sr., and his siblings, Nilda Ellis and Carlos Baez in eternal peace.
Hector had a gift for making people smile. Through his words, laughter, and unwavering support, he touched countless lives. He loved deeply, lived fully, and leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and joy.
There will be no formal services. His family will gather in Florida to celebrate his life and honor the incredible man he was. In lieu of flowers, please honor his memory by sharing kindness with someone in need—just as Hector always did.
“We love you up to heaven and back.”
