Fred Bugay Jr. (“Derf”), age 39, passed away on February 6, 2026, in Minerva, Ohio.
Born on January 17, 1987, Fred was the son of Fred Bugay Sr. He grew up in Homer City, Indiana, Pennsylvania, where he built the work ethic, toughness, and loyalty that would define him for the rest of his life.
Known by many as Derf, Fred was a man who lived to work and worked to provide. He was the founder of KFBBrothers LLC and a professional oversized load oil rig hauler, a career that perfectly matched his grit, pride, and love for the open road. He took immense pride in his truck, his craft, and doing things the right way. Providing for his family and friends wasn’t just a responsibility to Fred—it was who he was.
Fred is survived by his sister, Ashley, niece and nephew Pashance and Jay (Bubba), and his brother, Kyle Foor and niece Kove Foor, along with many family members, friends, and loved ones who were impacted by his strength, generosity, and unwavering dedication. He was someone people could count on—steady, hardworking, and always willing to show up.
Above all else, Fred loved deeply. He loved to work, loved his truck, and loved being able to take care of those around him. His presence, loyalty, and determination will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through the lives he supported and the example he set.
