Fred Ethan McFarland

Fred Ethan McFarland, born on January 27, 1953, in Braceville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2024 in his home. He was the beloved son of the late Elsie Margaret Whinnery McFarland and George Edward McFarland. Fred was also preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Earl McFarland, and his sister, Doris Elizabeth Davis. He is survived by his brother, Charles Edward McFarland.

Fred grew up on the family dairy farm in Braceville, Ohio, where he developed a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He was part of the inaugural class of LaBrae High School in 1970 and proudly graduated in the first class of 1971. Fred furthered his education at Slippery Rock University.

Fred was a member at the Braceville Christian Church, where he sang in the choir. He often was heard singing Psalm 23. He enjoyed fishing and playing chess with his friends and family. 

Though Fred's journey on this earth has come to an end, his legacy of kindness, love of wandering, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family and friends will remember him for his gentle spirit.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Fred's life will be planned at a later date. The family appreciates the support and condolences from all who knew and loved Fred during this difficult time.
