Good evening, we come together to remember and celebrate the life of Craig Leon Fountain Sr., a man whose laughter and spirit left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. Born on October 15, 1981, in Cleveland, Ohio, Craig lived a life filled with joy, service, and a love for the people around him. Sadly, Craig passed away due to natural causes on May 15, 2025, in his hometown of Cleveland, leaving a legacy of friendship, faith, and family.
Craig, known affectionately by his friends and family as a funny, faith-filled, and friendly man, attended Twinsburg High School and graduated in 2001. His quest for knowledge led him to pursue further education, and he completed several classes at Kent State University in 2007. His academic journey, though not traditional, was a testament to his belief in lifelong learning and personal growth.
After high school, Craig dedicated himself to serving his country as a member of the United States Army. His four years of active duty included a tour in Afghanistan, reflecting his courage and commitment to the values of freedom and security. Upon returning, he continued his service in the Army reserves for an additional two years, demonstrating the resilience and loyalty that those close to him had come to know well.
Professionally, Craig's work ethic was unmatched. He contributed his skills and energy to Lincoln Electric and Coca-Cola Inc., where he was not just an employee but a valued team member. His peers at both establishments remember him for his ready smile and the camaraderie he brought to the workplace.
Craig's interests were as vibrant and diverse as his personality. He loved music and could often be found dancing, a joyous expression of the rhythm that seemed to flow through him. From 2006 to 2008, he even channeled his charismatic presence into a brief stint in modeling, where he exuded confidence and charm.
As much as he accomplished in his own life, Craig was a family man at heart. He is predeceased by his father, Herbert Williams, his mother, Celestine Law, his stepfather James Law, and his son Jaylon Maurice Fountain. His memory is cherished by his four beloved children: Elizabeth Lynn Fountain of Ohio, Dasia Marie Fountain of Texas, Craig Leon Fountain Jr. of Texas, and Elijah Immanuel Fountain of Florida. Craig's presence as a father was a source of strength, love, and laughter for his children. He also leaves behind his sisters Angelina Fountain, Debra Wallace, Deedra Williams, and his brothers Chance Law, Daryl Williams and Leslie Howard along with several nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his guidance and humor.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, a quote that Craig often shared, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Craig truly lived by these words, and his success is evident in the lives he touched and the joy he spread.
Tonight, as we reflect on the life of Craig Leon Fountain Sr., we remember not just the facts of his life but the essence of the man. He walked through the world with a lightness that belied the depth of his character, and he made an impact that will not soon be forgotten. Craig's story is one of love, service, and the pursuit of happiness, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. We bid farewell to a man who was not only admired but truly loved, and we take comfort in the knowledge that his spirit will continue to dance among us. Goodnight, Craig, and thank you for the memories.
