Carol Jean DeMaria, the woman who lived her life with the volume turned all the way up, has danced her way into the great beyond on May 14, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on May 6, 1955, in Grove City, Pa, Carol was the kind of person who was memorable. Sadly, the curtains have closed on her vibrant life in Sharon, Pa, due to natural causes. Now, let's get one thing straight – Carol's idea of being 'born' in 1955 was more like making a grand entrance. And what an entrance it was! The world was never quite the same after she arrived, with her infectious laughter and a spirit that could light up any room. Her parents, Tony and Evelyn DeMaria, and sister Katherine Shealy, who predeceased her, must be organizing one heck of a welcome party for her in the sky. But down here, her little brother David DeMaria, her son Daniel Meintel, daughter Melissa Pierce, and grandson Makya Donner are left to carry the torch of her boundless energy. Carol was a graduate of Mercer High School, class of '74, and let's just say she was the kind of student that the teachers will never forget. She didn't stop there, though. Carol was able to further her education, especially if it meant she got to boss around a bunch of kids – legally. She obtained certifications in early childhood development and became the director of a daycare, where she shaped young minds and taught with such passion. If you ever wondered who was behind the loudest, most laughter-filled table at the local bar, chances are it was Carol. She worked in skilled nursing and at a nursing home, bringing joy and probably a little mischief to the lives of the elderly. She didn't just care for generations; she connected them, teaching toddlers and listening to the tales of the golden-agers with equal compassion. Carol loved her music like she loved her life: loud and full of passion. She was the social butterfly that could turn a quiet get-together into an impromptu party. She was the embodiment of creative resourcefulness; if you needed a costume made from duct tape and optimism, she was your gal. Describing Carol in a few words is like trying to describe a tornado in a haiku – spirited, passionate, and creative doesn't quite cover the whirlwind that she was. But it's a start. She was the life of the party, the spark in the dark, the person who made you laugh when you didn't even feel like smiling. So, here's to Carol Jean DeMaria – mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and the unofficial queen of karaoke. The world is a little quieter without her, but we bet she's already organizing the most heavenly party the afterlife has ever seen. Dance on, Carol, and keep the music loud for all of us down here. We'll miss your larger than life attitude, your laughter, and the way you made every moment a memorable.
