Brent Lee Bobak was born on March 30, 1981, in Warren, Ohio, and most recently resided in Sharon, Pennsylvania. A devoted Christian and believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, Brent lived his life with a passion for God, family, and friends. He was known affectionately by many as B, Bobak, Coach, sensei Brent, or Brentlee.
Brent was a dedicated martial arts instructor who shared his love for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), MMA, and UFC fighting with his students, always emphasizing the importance of both physical and mental strength. He was full of life and knowledge, combining humor with a profound ability to teach and inspire others. Brent had a unique gift for leaving a lesson that helped improve the lives of those around him.
He cherished his relationships deeply with people. Brent enjoyed cooking—his favorite dish being lasagna—and was known to hang out with friends, most of them becoming his family; his gym family. Brent was a dedicated teacher and mentor. He strived for excellency. He enjoyed the hours he took studying for either the word of God or martial arts. He took pride in his students. They were his family, like brothers. He loved them all so much and would have done anything he could for them. His heart was in all he taught, that showed by his talent. There is not one that would go toe to toe against him. Brent had many honors, certificates and awards that he earned. Always had to push to be the best, and he was. Church was always very important to Brent. Always studying the word of God in order to love others properly.
Preceded in death by his brother, Dominick Bates.
Brent is survived by his parents, Leigh Mayfield and Robert Bobak, as well as his sibling, Lesley Agosti. His wife and stepson, Ashley Bobak and Xavier Verrill. His nephews, Seth, Owen, Giovanni, Dominick, Alixander, Benjamin, Cai, Teo, and Ryu. His legacy of love, strength, and community service will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
